Parallel Simulator
Introducing the Parallel Simulator. A portable and customisable training system.
When connected in-line with a conventional circuit, the Parallel will simulate common scenarios related to ECMO and other circulatory and pulmonary support therapies.
The CE marked system comprises of a small Simulation Hub and two high resolution tablet PC’s. One designated as the ‘Control’ and the other as the ‘Monitor’.
The Control Tablet
By specifying physiological parameters that replicate adults, paediatrics or neonates, the user can choose to alter single or multiple parameters simultaneously depending on the complexity of the simulation.
The Monitor Tablet
Data is received wirelessly from the Control tablet and displays in real-time the change in ‘patient’ statistics along with audible alarms, allowing the user to re-evaluate the situation and take corrective action if necessary.
The Simulation Hub.
The Hub receives and processes instructions from the Control tablet wirelessly, enabling it to restrict flow through the inlet or outlet, or to simulate air entrainment or ‘patient’ bleed scenario through the rear luer ports.
It features quick-connect Arterial and Venous inlet and outlet ports and, standard female luer ports for easy in-line connection to an existing ECMO circuit.
The Transport Case.
Each system is supplied in a custom built flight case to keep all components safe and secure during storage or transport.
Features and Benefits of the Parallel ECMO Simulator
The Parallel System has the ability to run multiple Monitor tablets during the same session, or export the display via HDMI* to a larger screen for bigger group training sessions.
Simulate commonly experienced scenarios such as; venous side air entrainment, hypovolemic incidents through an unexpected bleed and, cavitation from kinked cannula.
An optional extended maintenance plan** is available to annually service and clean the unit and to also provide software updates as and when released.
The Monitor tablet is customisable and allows users to choose which vital stats are displayed and specify the colours. Users can also define which alarms sound and set conditions.
Hi speed data transfer through a wireless protocol allows scenarios to change quickly and also allow the trainer to control sessions from a separate room.

The control tablet can send specific X-Ray images to the monitor tablet during a simulation scenario to further support a training session.

Maintains a familiar look and responsiveness to other widely employed patient monitoring equipment to further enhance the fidelity of a training scenario.
